Following Suit (with a silent ‘t’)
Following Tango Mango makes me hungry.
And thirsty
and inspired a little thrifting,
but all I came back with was this shabby looking cast iron pan.

After a little Googling, I followed these steps.
[But did NOT dare use the self-cleaning cycle.]

I baked the pan skillet in a 400ºF oven — 1 hour.

I left it in the oven while it cooled down to 200ºF and dried out nicely

and then plunged the skillet into a bath of equal parts white grape vinegar. I left it for 2 hours, then rinsed it well and put it back in the oven to dry for 15 mins.
Then a quick sanding with fine paper scraped off all the rust. I wiped it clean with a soft cloth before applying a light coat of shortening.

Back in the oven for an hour at 400ºF.

… and voila !

Now I can make breakfast like Tango Mango
and frypan pizza like the Aussies.
